ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Originally from New York City, Nate Rockitter relocated to Colorado to receive an M.A. in Guidance and Counseling from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Nate's previous training manual Person to Person was instrumental in teaching counseling skills throughout the country. Nate has since started a peer counseling program in the Denver-Metro area that provides peer counseling jobs to mental health consumers in a managed care organization.

Nate's interest in mental health is both professional and personal. Nate had a brother (Robert) who was diagnosed with schizophrenia, and later passed away. This book is dedicated to Robert, to the Rockitter family, and to all the people and families who have experienced hardships and still have hope.
